Cynthia is Bugged - or is She?
Cynthia Rodriguez not only wants the house in Florida, custody of the kids, alimony and child support, now she wants to know if A-Rod has information on her gathered by private investigators. Attorneys for Alex Rodriguez have not yet responded to this latest request. In general, discovery rules will require that A-Rod to reveal any surveillance to Cynthia if he wants to be able to use it against her in Court.
As news broke on the possible Rodriguez breakup, Cynthia flew to Paris reportedly to visit Lenny Kravitz. She claims she only went to visit her children’s god parents and has no relationship with the pop star. Speaking of pop stars, the world is waiting to see if the Queen of Pop will make an appearance at the All-Star Game to cheer on her favorite Yankee. Sporting around town with her family in tow, Madonna claims she and Alex Rodriguez are strictly friends.
This divorce is going to get lots of attention and could be full of drama. Just last week a former stripper claimed she had an affair with the All-Star in 2004. However, this juicy bit of gossip might fizzle out in the divorce case. There is a legal defense called condonation that may apply in this case. Condonation means that the affair was forgiven and not the cause of the break up of the marriage. So if A-Rod can prove that Cynthia knew about his past affairs and stayed with him anyway, she may have a hard time bringing evidence of the adultery into the case. And given the fact that pictures of A-Rod and one of his lady friends were all over the media last summer, it could be a tough road for Cynthia. Stay tuned, there’s bound to be more.

So, does condonation mean forgiveness of a past affair constitues the approval and future forgivneness of future affair Actually, it doesn’t, it has nothing to do with the fact that she may have known about past affairs. It is implied that with condonation that there is a good will intent and that the party is repentant and will not commit adultry again. The law of condonation only applies to the actual affair that previously occured and was forgiven.
