Damon Dash Update
Damon Dash’s baby mama must return their son to the hip-hop mogul immediately, or face the consequences, a Manhattan judge ruled yesterday.
Linda Williams was a no-show at the Manhattan Family Court hearing, where Judge Susan Knipps ruled that she should return 16-year-old Damon Jr. to his father as soon as possible.
The teen went to visit his mom at her Long Island home last week, and she allegedly enrolled him in a school there, although his father has sole custody and he was supposed to go to school on the Upper West Side.
Knipps had threatened to issue an arrest warrant for Williams if she didn’t show up in court yesterday, but held off because she wasn’t sure Williams had been properly notified. The judge ordered her to come to court Monday.
Dash’s lawyer, Robert Wallack, said, “Damon’s position is we expect the child to be turned over immediately, and we expect Ms. Williams to comply with the judge’s orders.”
If she doesn’t show up on Monday, she is almost assured a trip to jail. If she does show up, she’s going to be facing one very angry judge. Linda Williams is really painting herself into a corner by not only violating the judges orders, but then not showing up at court.
