More Housing Woes
Hulk Hogan and his wife Linda filed for divorce in November 2007, and at that time the couple were in escrow to buy a luxurious Las Vegas condo for $4.2 million. A judge ordered the sale to go through and the condo be made community property. However, Mr. Hogan now claims the sale should not go through considering the poor economy and housing market.
According to court papers:
“In view of Husband’s present financial circumstances and legal commitments, Husband does not view the purchase of a luxury condominium to be appropriate or warranted. Further, Husband would prefer to marshal assets for future concerns as opposed to be being required to make a purchase of a condominium that newly discovered evidence suggests is a waste of marital assets.”
Mr. Hogan claims a new appraisal values the condo a million dollars less than initially valued by an appraiser hired by his soon to be ex-wife. However, since the court initially ordered the sale to go through, Linda Hogan (and lawyer) claim Hulk Hogan is now in contempt.
Obviously The Hulk is trying to get out of paying for anything right now, considering his current and future legal problems. But, his wife is right, by backing out of a sale that was ordered to go through by the court, he is acting in contempt and could be placed in jail.
