No venting to the public…Follow-up

As reported in an earlier blog post, Tricia Walsh-Smith’s video on YouTube ranting about her soon-to-be ex-husband may end up hurting her case and costing her much more than an apartment. Walsh-Smith retaliated to her husband’s petition for divorce and decided to publicly humiliate him on the internet. Now, her husband’s lawyer plans to use that video against her in court.

The husband, Philip Smith, 77, is suing his wife for divorce on the grounds she was cruel to him. She then posted a video on YouTube saying they’d never had sex and that he was trying to “destroy” her. In court, Smith’s lawyer, David Aronson, said he plans on adding the YouTube videos to his client’s suit as evidence of her cruelty.

Although, the couple’s prenuptial agreement calls for Walsh-Smith to move from their shared home in 30 days, the judge presiding over her divorce case, Harold Beeler, said he wouldn’t decide on her husband’s request to move from his Park Avenue apartment until after they go to trial next month. A minor victory for Walsh-Smith, considering she gave her husband’s attorney evidence by venting her frustrations over the internet for the whole world to see.

Once again, if you need to talk, scream, yell, or cry about your spouse, do it to your lawyer or therapist.
