Patricia Arquette Files For Divorce
Patricia Arquette has filed for divorce from her husband, Thomas Jane, citing “irreconcilable differences”. The couple have been married for two years. The couple have a five year old daughter and Arquette is seeking sole custody with visitation for Jane.
The couple met through mutual friends in 2001, according to People.com, but an exact date of separation was not provided to the court. TMZ is also reporting Arquette has hired Laura Wasser, who is also representing Kate Walsh in her divorce. Arquette and Jane are both actors. Arquette currently stars in Medium, and Jane played Mickey Mantle in the HBO movie, 61.
In Georgia, there are two types of custody regarding children: legal and physical. Legal custody is the type of custody that enables a parent to access the child’s medical records, school records, etc. Physical custody is who the child lives with. Almost all parents are granted joint legal custody, so that they can access information regarding their child. Physical custody is usually awarded to one parent, unless the parents can show the court that a joint physical custody arrangement is in the child’s best interest.
