Spears and Federline reach a Settlement
After a year and a half, Britney Spears and Kevin Federline have reportedly reached a settlement in the custody of their children. Preston and Jayden will remain in the sole custody of their father, according to media reports released today. Spears will keep her two visits and one overnight visit. Federline also got his child support payments upped from $15,000.00 a month to $20,000.00 a month. More money for more time, not a bad trade for Brittany, and certainly a good deal for K-Fed.
Spears and Federline have been in a bitter custody fight since 2007, partly due to the public breakdowns suffered by Spears. However, her recent more “normal” behavior, has given the court more confidence in her parenting abilities and allowing her visitation. Spears’ father remains in control of her legal assets, and many believe that he should be credited for her turnaround. As Spears continues to display the ability to care for her children, she may decide to fight for custody of her children later. But given her history, it would be a long, hard, and expensive road. Unless, of course, Federline has a melt down. Anything can happen in Hollywood.
